Women Safety Committee

The Women Safety Committee at Government Degree College, Tissa, is committed to creating a secure and supportive environment where every female student and staff member feels respected and protected. Through a variety of initiatives, the committee aims to empower women and foster awareness around key issues related to gender equality and women’s rights.

To achieve this, the committee organizes awareness programs, self-defence workshops, and counselling sessions, equipping women with practical skills and knowledge to enhance their confidence and sense of safety. Additionally, these programs educate the broader college community about the importance of gender equality and the need to uphold the rights and dignity of women.

The committee collaborates closely with college authorities to proactively address any safety concerns that arise, ensuring that prompt actions are taken when necessary. By promoting a culture of respect, security, and inclusivity, the Women Safety Committee is dedicated to building a college community where all women can pursue their academic and professional goals in a safe, supportive, and empowering environment that extends beyond campus life.
